When he finally tells Janine the truth in Season 3 - the full account of his grandfather, his father, the night that changed everything - it lands with the weight of something that has been held in private for a long time. She calls him her hero. He has been carrying it toward that moment for years without announcing he was carrying anything.
His OCD is the Si library's most literal expression: the specific counting, the specific organisation, the specific physical routines that the body builds around the need to maintain order against accumulated evidence that disorder is always incoming.
