Eric Cartman's ENTJ profile is South Park's most complete portrait of the type when the inferior function has received zero developmental conditions and the dominant function has been given an environment - the specific suburban Colorado town, the specific group of friends - that provides insufficient institutional resistance to the Te's most complete available implementation of the Ni synthesis. He does not manipulate from strategy in the conventional sense. The Ni synthesises what the specific situation requires for the specific outcome Cartman has designated, the Te implements the synthesis with maximum efficiency, and the inferior Fe provides exactly zero accounting of what the implementation costs the specific people in its path until the implementation has been completed.
His relationship with Kyle is the inferior Fi's most complete and most consistent expression: the specific person who the inferior function has designated as the most significant available foil - the specific intelligence, the specific moral integrity, the specific function stack that the dominant function finds most interesting to engage against. He does not hate Kyle from ideology. The dominant function requires the most interesting available adversarial configuration. Kyle provides it. The inferior function has the record.
"Screw you guys, I'm going home." That line is the ENTJ's most complete self-portrait: the Te has assessed the specific configuration, the Ni has synthesised that the specific configuration no longer serves the synthesis's objectives, and the implementation of the departure is immediate and total. He does not negotiate. The synthesis has produced the verdict. The Te implements it. He goes home.
Why Eric Cartman Is ENTJ, Not INTJ or ESTJ
Cartman is sometimes typed INTJ - the apparent private strategy, the comprehensive long-range planning. But INTJ builds Ni syntheses and the dominant function is the interior architecture. Cartman builds Te implementations of Ni syntheses that are always publicly externalised - every scheme is visible, every manipulation is performed for an audience. The INTJ prefers concealment. Cartman requires the audience. The Te is primary.
The ESTP argument comes from his apparent social confidence and the speed of his situational reading. But ESTP reads what is present and acts from the reading. Cartman synthesises what the situation requires and implements the synthesis before the situation has finished presenting itself. That synthesis-before-reading is Ni, not Se.
The clincher is the Scott Tenorman episode. He spent months building the specific scheme - the specific farm, the specific parents, the specific chilli - because the Ni synthesis had designated the specific outcome as required and the Te had assessed the most efficient available path to the outcome as requiring months of preparation. The ESTP would have found the most interesting available immediate response to Scott. Cartman built a scheme that required months because the Ni synthesis had already determined what the outcome required.
