Bra'tac
Bra'tac is ISTP. Tony Amendola played him across nine seasons of Stargate SG-1 as the Jaffa master who was once Apophis' First Prime and who became the first of his people to work out that the gods they served were parasites in stolen bodies. He is the one who put that doubt into Teal'c. It made him an outcast among the Jaffa for most of his life, and it made him, eventually, the man who led them to victory over the Goa'uld.
Who Is Bra'tac?
Master Bra'tac is a Jaffa warrior in Stargate SG-1, played by Tony Amendola, appearing across seasons one to three and five to ten. He served as First Prime to Apophis - the highest position a Jaffa could hold, commanding the forces of a System Lord - and it was from inside that position that he reached the conclusion the entire Jaffa people had been built not to reach: that the Goa'uld are not gods but parasites, and that everything organised around their divinity is a lie.
Having worked it out, he was one of the first Jaffa to say so, and it cost him. He spent much of his life as an outcast among his own people, holding a position that made him unusable to the System Lords and unwelcome among those who still served them. He is also the man who put the doubt into Teal'c, which makes him the origin point of the show's entire Jaffa storyline.
What does Bra'tac do in the Jaffa rebellion?
He becomes its senior figure. The rebellion is a long project rather than an uprising, and Bra'tac's role across the later seasons is to hold together a coalition of warriors who have been raised for absolute obedience and are now being asked to govern themselves. He and Teal'c lose their symbiotes after a rebel Jaffa summit is sabotaged - which for a Jaffa is a life-threatening event, since the symbiote is their immune system - and survive on the drug tretonin. In the end they lead the Jaffa to victory over the Goa'uld, which is a payoff the series had been building toward since the first season.

Bra'tac: What the ISTP Profile Explains
Bra'tac is dominant Ti applied to a question nobody was permitted to ask. Every Jaffa is raised inside a closed system in which the Goa'uld are gods and the evidence is arranged accordingly. Bra'tac looked at the same evidence everyone else had - the symbiote, the technology, the behaviour - and worked out that the framework did not hold. That is Ti doing exactly what it does: taking a system apart to see whether it is internally consistent, and following the answer regardless of what it costs socially.
The auxiliary Se is why he is not merely a dissident philosopher. He is a formidable fighter well into extreme old age, entirely comfortable in a firefight, and his teaching method with Teal'c and later with younger Jaffa is physical and demonstrative rather than doctrinal. The conclusion was reached by reasoning; everything after it is executed with his hands.
Why does Bra'tac matter so much to Teal'c?
Because tertiary Ni gives him the long view of what the Jaffa could become, and because the inferior Fe means he can only ever hand it over in fragments. Bra'tac is not warm. He is exacting, sardonic and sparing with approval, and the relationship works because Teal'c understands what the rare approval means. The show is careful about this: the affection between them is enormous and almost entirely unspoken, expressed through a hand on a shoulder and the word brother used perhaps a handful of times in nine years.
Bra'tac: ISTP Letter by Letter
He held a heretical conclusion privately for years before it was safe to voice, and he remains self-contained even as the rebellion's senior figure. He does not seek followers; people come to him, and he is faintly impatient about it.
He remains a physically dangerous man into old age and teaches by demonstration rather than lecture. His authority in a room of Jaffa warriors rests on what he can still do with a staff weapon, and he is entirely aware of that.
He reasoned his way out of a religion that had shaped his entire species, using only evidence available to everyone else, and then accepted exile as the price of the conclusion. The logic mattered more to him than belonging, and it cost him most of a life.
The rebellion has no master plan and he does not pretend otherwise. He works with whatever alliance, weapon or opening presents itself, over decades, adapting continuously, which is why it eventually succeeds where a rigid campaign would have been crushed early.
Why Bra'tac Is ISTP, Not ISTJ or ESTP
ISTJ is the most obvious alternative for an old warrior in a tradition-bound military culture. But Bra'tac's defining act is the rejection of tradition. An Si-dominant Jaffa would be the most devout servant in the fleet, because the accumulated record is precisely what the Goa'uld religion consists of. He dismantled it instead, from first principles, which is Ti.
INTJ is occasionally suggested because of the strategic patience across decades. The difference is that his method is hands-on and situational rather than architectural. He does not build an organisation and direct it; he fights, teaches, adapts, and holds a coalition together by being physically present in it, which is Ti with Se rather than Ni with Te.
