Jaskier is ENFP. He attaches himself to Geralt with total enthusiasm and zero plan, follows him across the Continent, and turns every adventure into a song whether Geralt wants him to or not. His loyalty is genuine and expressed entirely through presence and creative output - he cannot not write Toss a Coin, because the ENFP who has found something worth celebrating cannot contain the celebration. His friendship with Geralt is the Ne-Fi combination's most specific investment: the specific person who is the most interesting available variable in the Ne's constant generation of what could be interesting, held by the Fi with a completeness that Geralt's ISTP function stack cannot fully model or adequately reciprocate. He keeps following Geralt not because Geralt asks him to. Why Jaskier Is ENFP, Not ENTP or INFP
Jaskier is sometimes typed ESFP - the physical expressiveness, the social ease, the apparent present-tense joy. But ESFP is Se dominant: it inhabits the present moment completely. Jaskier inhabits the present moment and simultaneously generates the song it will become. He is never fully present in the way the Se dominant is present because the Ne is always running the connection between what is happening and what it means lyrically. He is the ENFP's relationship to experience: in it and already processing it for its eventual Ne-Fi output.
The ENTP argument comes from his wit, the apparent Ti quality of his verbal sparring. But ENTP's wit is Ti-based: analytically precise. Jaskier's wit is Fi-based: it finds the angle that captures the emotional truth of the situation rather than the logical truth. His songs are not accurate - they are emotionally resonant. He does not make Geralt the monster (Ti accurate) or a misunderstood philosopher (Ni synthesis). He makes him a hero who deserves a coin (Fi endorsing the emotional reframing). But he goes first, which is the most honest thing about the type: the Ne's optimism is real and the inferior Si's vulnerability is equally real, and when the specific person finally says what Geralt says on the mountain, the inferior function responds before the dominant has time to generate the alternative.
