Albus Severus Potter is INFP. Who Is Albus Severus Potter?
Albus Severus Potter is the central character of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the stage play that opened in London in 2016, scripted by Jack Thorne from a story developed with J.K. Rowling and John Tiffany. He is the second son of Harry and Ginny Potter, named for Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape, and the play opens on the same platform where the last novel ended.
Everything about him is a disappointment to a world expecting a sequel. He is sorted into Slytherin. He is not good at magic. He cannot fly. He is not popular, is visibly unhappy, and is aware that everyone he meets is measuring him against his father and finding the arithmetic disappointing.
What does Albus do in Cursed Child?
He and Scorpius Malfoy - his only friend, the son of Draco, rumoured across the school to be Voldemort's child - steal a Time-Turner and go back to save Cedric Diggory, who died in the Triwizard Tournament decades earlier. The reasoning is Albus's: his father let Cedric die, his father is celebrated anyway, and undoing it would prove something. It goes catastrophically wrong in the way time travel always does, producing alternate presents that are considerably worse, including one in which Voldemort won. The play's actual subject is not the plot but the conversation Harry and Albus cannot have, and the line that lands hardest is Harry admitting that sometimes he wishes Albus were not his son.

Albus is dominant Fi in the least forgiving possible circumstances. He has an intense private sense of who he is and no way to make it legible to anyone, least of all to a father whose entire public identity is the opposite of his. The Slytherin sorting is not a rebellion, it is an accurate reading of somebody the school has misclassified, and the play is careful about that: he is not a bad boy, he is a boy nobody has correctly identified.
The auxiliary Ne is why the plan is so terrible. He generates a possibility - undo Cedric's death - and follows it without any capacity to model what changing the past would do, because the possibility is emotionally satisfying and the consequences are abstract. Fi decides that the injustice is unbearable and Ne supplies a route to it that no adult would have entertained for a second.
Why does Albus become friends with Scorpius?
Because Fi recognises another person operating from the same position, and because it does not care what anyone thinks about it. Scorpius is the least advisable friend in the school - suspected of being Voldemort's son, shunned by everyone - and Albus attaches to him immediately, permanently, and against enormous social pressure. It is the healthiest thing in the play and the clearest evidence of the type. The tertiary Si is why he cannot let go of a grievance about events he did not witness, and the inferior Te is why the plan has no operational thinking in it at all.

He is isolated by disposition as much as by circumstance, has one friend by choice, and carries the whole of his grievance internally for years before it comes out as an action rather than a conversation.
His response to an unbearable situation is to generate an entirely hypothetical solution involving time travel. He is not fixing his life; he is rewriting a past he has only heard about, which is a boy living several steps away from the present.
Everything he does proceeds from a private sense of injustice - about Cedric, about his father, about himself - that he cannot articulate and will not abandon. The friendship with Scorpius is chosen on the same basis and defended against everyone.
The plan is improvised, unresearched and catastrophic, and he keeps adapting it as each attempt makes things worse rather than stopping. There is no point in the play where he has thought anything through.
Why Albus Severus Potter Is INFP, Not ISFP or INFJ
INFJ is sometimes suggested because of the intensity and the sense of a boy carrying something large. The difference is direction. An Ni-Fe adolescent would be reading the room and adapting; Albus is conspicuously bad at reading rooms and consistently acts on a private verdict regardless of how it lands.
ISFP is occasionally proposed because of the withdrawal and the sensitivity. But he is not grounded in the present at all - he is preoccupied with a past he did not live through and a future he cannot picture, and the whole plot is driven by a boy generating an idea rather than responding to what is in front of him.
