She was found in a hotel under an assumed name. The Si library had never contained an entry for what the specific present-tense crisis required. The inferior function generated the only available response and the Te implemented it without the Si's accumulated precedent providing the standard.
Why Agatha Christie Is ISTJ, Not ISFJ or INTJ
Christie is sometimes typed INTJ - the comprehensive planning of each mystery, the apparent long-range vision, the systematic construction of the detective framework. But INTJ builds Ni syntheses and implements them toward a specific vision. Christie builds Si libraries and tests each configuration against the accumulated standard of internal consistency. She does not have a vision of where the mystery genre should go. She has a record of every configuration the genre has contained and a Te that assesses each new configuration against the record's standard.
The INFJ argument comes from the apparent depth, the psychological insight into her characters' motivations. But INFJ's insight is Ni-synthesised: the pattern recognised before the evidence is complete. Christie's insight is Si-accumulated: she understood human behaviour because the library had been building the record of observed human behaviour across a lifetime, and the Te could assess any new character's behaviour against the accumulated record's standard. The insight is retrospective and accumulated, not prospective and synthesised.
The clincher is the Christie Method: she always knew who did it before she began writing. The Si library accumulates the solution from the available material, the Te verifies the solution's internal consistency against every available clue, and the novel is the implementation of the solution in reverse - the evidence laid in place that will make the solution deductively accessible to the reader who applies the correct framework.
