John Adams is INTJ. Why John Adams Is INTJ, Not INFJ or ENTJ
Adams is sometimes typed ISTJ - the apparent institutional loyalty, the conservative management, the systematic approach. But ISTJ operates from accumulated precedent. Adams's Ni had synthesised what the specific new republic required before any available precedent existed. That synthesis-before-precedent sequence is Ni, not Si. The institutional loyalty served the synthesis. The synthesis preceded the institution.
The ENTJ argument comes from his command authority and the institutional management. But ENTJ builds outward and inhabits institutional leadership naturally.
