ENFJs organize their energy around people. The primary question running through their engagement is always some version of how people are doing, what the group needs, and where everyone could go. ENTPs organize their energy around ideas. Look at how each engages in conversation

ENFJs engage conversations as human events. They attune to how the other person is doing, adjust their approach in real time based on what they sense, and leave the conversation having genuinely invested in the other person. ENTPs engage conversations as intellectual events. They are interested in what the other person thinks, where the interesting tension in the position is, and what new angle might emerge from the exchange.

Consider their relationship with structure and closure

ENFJs are J types who work toward closure and organized direction. Open trajectories create mild discomfort. ENTPs are P types who keep options open and find premature closure genuinely frustrating. The possibility space must remain available. The same open-ended situation registers as a loose end to the ENFJ and as an interesting territory to the ENTP.

Watch how each handles conflict

ENFJs feel interpersonal conflict in their primary domain. Relational friction is costly and they feel pulled to restore harmony. ENTPs find conflict more interesting than uncomfortable.
