Intuition
Opposite: S · Sensing

You take in information and immediately start finding the pattern underneath it. Where things are heading, what it connects to, what's implied but not said. The present moment tends to interest you less than what it suggests about the future. This is not a failure to pay attention. It's a different kind of attention.

Ideas arrive fast and in clusters. You've probably had the experience of seeing something clearly, where a project is going wrong, what a person is really saying, what decision needs to be made, significantly before anyone else in the room has got there. The challenge is usually not the vision. It's staying with the vision long enough for it to become something real.

Strengths
  • Sees where things are heading before they get there
  • Connects ideas across domains in ways that produce genuinely novel conclusions
  • Asks the question underneath the question that everyone else is answering
  • Operates naturally at the level of strategy and meaning rather than just execution
In daily life
You read between the lines habitually. You get bored in conversations that stay at the surface. You've started a lot of things that didn't get finished. There's usually something you're working out in the back of your mind.
Growth edge
The present is also real. The person in front of you, the task in your hands, what's actually true right now, these deserve your full attention too, and they don't always get it. Some of the patterns you see are projections. Not all of them. But enough that staying close to what's verifiable is a useful counterweight.
S
Sensing
Trusts what's concrete, observable, and present.
