Feeling
Opposite: T · Thinking

You make decisions by weighing human impact alongside the facts. Who is affected, what matters to them, whether the outcome is consistent with what you believe is right. This is not a soft process. It requires holding multiple people's experiences in mind simultaneously and finding a path that respects all of them, which is harder than applying a single objective standard.

The emotional information you pick up on is real information. The shift in someone's tone, the gap between what someone says and how they're holding themselves, what's being avoided in a conversation, you register these things. Sometimes before the person in question is fully aware of them. That's a form of intelligence that doesn't show up on most tests.

Strengths
  • Reads people with accuracy that feels effortless from the outside
  • Adjusts tone and approach based on who you're talking to, without needing to think about it
  • Holds genuine ethical convictions that don't bend easily under social pressure
  • Motivates others through care rather than authority, which tends to produce more durable commitment
In daily life
You remember how people felt about things, not just what happened. Conflict lingers for you longer than for most. You've given advice that was kinder than it was honest, and you've felt the cost of that afterward.
Growth edge
Protecting how someone feels in the short term sometimes means withholding what they actually need to hear. The most useful thing you can do for people you care about is sometimes the hardest thing to say. Empathy that avoids the hard conversation is incomplete. The version that includes it is more powerful.
