The Ni synthesis arrives complete and irreversible: this was a miracle, the framework you have been operating inside is insufficient, you are now required to walk the earth and find the correct framework. The INFJ whose Ni produces the synthesis cannot un-produce it. He gives notice in the diner.
His relationship with Vincent Vega is the Fe auxiliary's most complete operation in the film: the genuine care for a specific person, the patience with the philosophical disagreement, the recognition that Vincent's ISTP function stack cannot generate the Ni synthesis that Jules has just received. He does not demand Vincent share the experience. He expects Vincent to dismiss it. The Fe has already modelled the conversation and is not surprised by its outcome. He just can't stay anymore.
The diner confrontation with Pumpkin and Honey Bunny is the film's most precise INFJ portrait: the Ni synthesis applied to the specific person in front of him (Pumpkin is not a bad man in the way Jules has been a bad man), the Fe auxiliary reading the specific emotional reality of Honey Bunny's panic with total accuracy, the Te implementing the specific resolution that serves the synthesis's requirements - let them go, give them the money, use the resolution as the moment of departure from the old framework. He walks out of the diner and into whatever the Ni has already determined comes next.
Why Jules Winnfield Is INFJ, Not INFP or INTJ
Jules is sometimes typed ESTJ - the authority, the institutional enforcement, the apparent rule-following of Marsellus's operation. But ESTJ's Te is primary: it builds and enforces institutional structures. Jules operates within the institutional structure from an Ni synthesis that has always been running beneath the enforcement. The miracle does not create his faith; it reveals what was already synthesised beneath the professional surface. The ESTJ would not have received the bullets' survival as a synthesis. Jules received it as confirmation of what the Ni had been building toward.
The ISTP argument comes from his physical competence, the tactical intelligence, the apparent detachment during the killings. But ISTP is Ti-Se: the present-tense analytical framework applied to immediate situations. Jules's killing sequences are the Te implementing the Ni's assessment of the institutional requirement - not Ti analysis of the immediate physical problem. The Ezekiel recitation before each killing is the Fe providing the ritual the Ni determined was required for the implementation to be carried. That combination is INFJ, not ISTP.
