His management of The Beef - and later The Bear - is the INFP trying to apply a standard that was developed in a different world to a situation the standard was never designed for. Why Carmen Berzatto Is INFP, Not ISFP or INFJ
Carmy is sometimes typed INTJ - the perfectionism, the comprehensive standards, the private intensity. But INTJ is Ni dominant: it synthesises a vision and builds toward it with Te. Carmy does not have a vision of what The Bear should become; he has a feeling of what food should be, and the feeling is primary, and the vision is what the feeling requires when externalised. The ISFP argument comes from his physical grace in the kitchen, the Se quality of his cooking performance. ISFP is Fi-Se: the values are grounded in the present physical world. He cannot come out until the interior resolves. The Ti that would manage this - build the protocol, execute the protocol, evaluate afterward - is not available to him.
