Alexander Hamilton is ENTJ. The inferior Fi is the duels, the Reynolds Pamphlet, the relationship with Burr. Hamilton's most catastrophic decisions are inferior function events: the public confession of the affair, the refusal to fire his pistol at Weehawken, the political manoeuvres that made Burr his permanent enemy. The Te dominant built the Treasury, the Coast Guard, the financial system, the Constitutional argument for federal power. Why Alexander Hamilton Is ENTJ, Not INTJ or ESTJ
Hamilton is sometimes typed ENTP - the intellectual brilliance, the argumentative quality, the apparent pleasure in debate. But ENTP generates possibilities to test them; it does not build institutions. Hamilton built institutions: the Bank of the United States, the Coast Guard, the financial infrastructure of the republic. These are Te structures, not Ne explorations. He was not interested in exploring whether a central bank might work; he was interested in implementing the one that his Ni synthesis had already determined was correct.
The INTJ argument comes from his comprehensive model, his private strategy, the patience of his long-range political positioning. But INTJ builds from the inside out and leads reluctantly. Hamilton is constitutionally extraverted in his ambition - he needs the role, the title, the visible position, the acknowledgment that the framework is his. INTJ would have written the Federalist Papers anonymously and not cared about the attribution. Hamilton cared enormously about the attribution, which is the Te dominant's need for external validation of the institutional product.
